Our higher education short courses are designed for those who are looking to gain extra skills within their current role, get a taste of a new career or simply to ‘try out’ higher education. They provide the flexibility to upskill or reskill without having to enrol onto a full qualification. These short units provide the flexibility to online, meaning that you will be able to combine the development of practical skills with academic study.

These courses are particularly aligned to organisations with a focus on Continuous Professional Development, providing flexible skills solutions that allow employees to achieve their long-term career aspirations. In particular they:
- allow employers to provide CPD using role-specific modules;
- are a lower-commitment option for both employer and employee;
- require less investment than full qualifications and;
- provide the ability to improve employees’ knowledge and skills rapidly.
Also, participants have the opportunity to stack skills by completing different units, gaining a Certificate of Unit Credit (CoUC) for each unit. Students may also be able to use their success towards the achievement of a full HNC/D. Not all units can be combined to create a full HN qualification.
